2. Legal Basis / Personal Data

Profinder processes your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, in particular the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal data is information that makes it possible to identify a natural person. This includes, in particular, name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, but also your IP address. Data is anonymous if no personal reference to the user can be established.

Without your express consent, Profinder only uses personal data to fulfil contractual or statutory obligations and to the extent necessary for your request (usually name, first name, address and email address as well as payment data).

3. Collection of General Data and Information

Profinder's website collects a series of general data and information each time it is accessed by a data subject or an automated system. This general data and information is stored in the server's log files. In particular, the following may be collected:

• browser types and versions used
• the operating system used by the accessing system
• the website from which an accessing system reaches our website (referrer)
• the sub-pages accessed through an accessing system on our website
• the date and time of access to the website
• an internet protocol address (IP address)
• the internet service provider of the accessing system

When using this general data and information, Profinder does not draw any conclusions about the data subject. Rather, this information is needed to:

• correctly deliver the content of our website
• optimize the content of our website
• ensure the long-term functionality of our systems and website technology
• provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for prosecution in the event of a cyberattack

This anonymously collected data and information is therefore evaluated by Profinder with the aim of increasing data protection and data security within our company. The anonymous data of the server log files is stored separately from any personal data provided by a data subject. This data is generally not passed on to third parties unless there is a statutory obligation to do so or the disclosure serves law enforcement purposes.

4. Data Collection on our Website

4.1 Contact Form

When you contact us via the contact form, the following data is collected:

• First and last name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional)
• Your message

This data is used to process your request and is stored in our database. You will receive an automatic confirmation email upon receipt of your message. The data will not be passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to process your request.

4.2 Application Form

When applying via our careers page, the following data is collected:

• First and last name
• Email address and phone number
• LinkedIn profile (optional)
• Resume (CV) as a PDF file
• Cover letter

This data is used exclusively for the application process. Application documents are retained or deleted after the process is completed in accordance with statutory requirements.

4.3 Quote Requests

For a quote request, we collect the contact, personal, vehicle, cover and claims details required for the insurance comparison. You may optionally upload vehicle registration documents and other papers as PDF or JPG files.

The details and documents are used exclusively to process your quote request. Uploaded documents are stored in private, protected storage and are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days. The request itself may be retained for longer where statutory retention duties apply.

5. Disclosure of Data / Data Transfer to Third Parties

Profinder will only disclose your data to third parties within the scope of statutory and contractual provisions or with corresponding consent. Otherwise, data is not disclosed to third parties unless we are obliged to do so due to mandatory legal provisions (disclosure to external bodies such as supervisory or law enforcement authorities).

In general, data is only transferred to third countries (countries outside Switzerland, the European Union or the European Economic Area) if this is legally required, you have given Profinder your consent, or if this is necessary to fulfil the contractual relationship. The transferred data is limited to the necessary minimum.

6. Data Retention Period

Profinder stores your data for as long as it is needed for the respective processing purpose. Please note that numerous retention periods require data to continue to be stored. This applies in particular to statutory retention obligations under contract or tax law. Where no further retention obligations exist, data is routinely deleted by Profinder once its purpose has been fulfilled. In addition, Profinder may retain data if you have given Profinder permission to do so or in the event of legal disputes.

7. Secure Data Transmission

To protect data stored by Profinder as effectively as possible against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons, Profinder implements appropriate technical and organizational security measures. Security levels are continuously reviewed and adapted to new security standards.

Data exchange to and from the Profinder website is always encrypted. We offer «https» as the transmission protocol for our website, always using current encryption protocols. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from «http://» to «https://» and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

8. Cookies and Tracking

8.1 Consent and Categories

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. On your first visit to our website, we ask for your consent via a consent banner. Without your consent, only technically necessary cookies are set; the optional categories are pre-selected in the banner and can be deselected; statistics, marketing and external media services only become active once you confirm your choice with «Accept all» or «Save selection». Google Tag Manager is already loaded on profinder.ch beforehand but sets no cookies; all measurement and advertising signals remain blocked until you decide (Google Consent Mode v2, default «denied»).

Legal basis: Necessary cookies are based on our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 31 DPA, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Statistics, marketing and external media services are only used on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Art. 6 DPA).

Transfer abroad: With Google and Microsoft services, data may be transferred to and processed in the USA. The transfer is based on EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Revocation: You can revoke or adjust your consent at any time with effect for the future – via the «Cookie Settings» link in the footer of this website.

Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can usually also change your browser's settings if you prefer not to send this information. By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can disable or restrict the transmission of cookies.

8.2 Session Storage

For the functionality of our interactive calculators (e.g. budget calculator), we use session storage to temporarily store your entries during use. This data is automatically deleted as soon as you close your browser.

9. External Services

9.1 Google Maps

On our contact and directions pages, we embed Google Maps to display our location. The map is only loaded once you consent to the «external media» category or actively load the map via the placeholder. This transmits data to Google LLC, including your IP address. 9.2 Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 for reach measurement, Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags, and Google Ads for conversion tracking and remarketing. Pseudonymized usage data (e.g. pages viewed, device type, truncated IP address) is processed. Without consent, only cookieless signals without identification are sent (Google Consent Mode v2). 9.3 Metricool

With your consent, we use the tracker from Metricool SL (Spain) to analyze website and social media traffic. Usage data such as page views, referrer and device type is collected. Details can be found in Metricool's Privacy Policy.

9.4 Email Delivery and Profinder Finanzbrief (Brevo)

For sending confirmation emails for contact requests and applications, as well as for Profinder Finanzbrief (double opt-in), we use the Brevo service (formerly Sendinblue). The data necessary for email delivery (email address, name) is transmitted to Brevo. Brevo processes this data in the EU in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

9.5 Microsoft Bookings (Appointment Scheduling)

For online appointment scheduling we link to Microsoft Bookings. The booking page opens in a new window at Microsoft; no cookies are set on our website for this. When using this service, your data is processed by Microsoft in accordance with its Privacy Statement.

9.6 Hosting and Backend (Lovable Cloud (Hosting & Backend))

Our website is hosted via Lovable; form data, document uploads and Profinder Finanzbrief sign-ups are processed via Lovable Cloud's backend infrastructure in the EU. No marketing or analytics cookies are set in this context.

9.7 Address suggestions (Google Places)

In forms (e.g. quote request, BVG application) we suggest matching addresses as you type. For this, the address parts you enter are sent to Google (Google LLC, USA) – via our server in the quote form, and directly from your browser in the BVG form (which also transmits your IP address). The feature is optional; you can also type your address without suggestions. More information in Google's privacy policy.

9.8 Measurement in our emails

Our confirmation and result emails contain an invisible tracking pixel and links redirected via our server. This tells us whether an email was opened and which link was clicked (time, template, clicked link, browser identifier). We use this solely to improve our emails and delete it once it is no longer needed for this purpose. You can prevent it by disabling automatic image loading in your email client, or object by writing to datenschutz@profinder.ch.

10. Links to Other Providers

Profinder's website may also contain links to the websites of other companies. Insofar as links to other providers' websites exist, Profinder has no influence over their content. Therefore, no guarantee or liability can be assumed for such content. The respective provider or operator of these pages is always responsible for their content.

The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations and recognizable infringements at the time of linking. Illegal content was not recognizable at the time of linking. However, permanent monitoring of the content of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete evidence of a legal violation. Upon becoming aware of any legal violations, such links will be removed immediately.

11. Social Media

Our website contains links to our profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Clicking these links will redirect you to the respective platforms. No data transfer takes place unless you click on the links. The respective providers are responsible for data processing on their platforms. 12. Right to Information and Withdrawal

You have the right at any time to information about the data stored about you and, where applicable, a right to have it corrected. You may also have data blocked or deleted. In particular, you have the right to:

• request information about your personal data processed by Profinder. In particular, you may request information about the processing purposes, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to correction, deletion, restriction of processing or objection, and the existence of a right to lodge a complaint;
• promptly request the correction of inaccurate or the completion of personal data stored by Profinder;
• request the deletion of your personal data stored by Profinder, provided that processing is not necessary for exercising the right to freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
• request the restriction of the processing of your personal data if you contest the accuracy of the data, the processing is unlawful but you refuse deletion, Profinder no longer needs the data but you need it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or you have objected to the processing;
• receive the personal data you have provided to Profinder in a structured, common and machine-readable format, or request the transfer to another controller.

Consent already given to the processing of personal data may be withdrawn at any time by the data subject. A withdrawal only takes effect for the future. Processing carried out before the written withdrawal is not affected.
